A BIG THANK YOU TO MY BABIES NEW MOMMIES & DADDIES..
Baby's new litter - 11/09/03

Many theories about the Dachshund have been explored over the years. But, what is fact & what is fiction. I am hoping to help people become more informed about these wonderful little furry people. Because they truly are PUPPIES WITH PERSONALITY.

I do believe that one of the most ficticious rumours I have ever heard about the weenie is: I never want to have one of those dogs because they always have BAD BACKS.

Fact or Fiction??????
Well, here goes.
FICTION: No, they don't always have bad backs.

FACT: First of all a GOOD breeder will make sure that there is a solid line of ALMOST PERFECT GENETICS behind every dog that they breed. I say almost perfect, because nothing is PERFECT. But it is the breeders responsibility to make sure these babies are as flawless as possible.

After the buyer takes the puppy home it is then the responsibility of the new mommy and/or daddy to make sure these little honey's get plenty of excercise, proper diet, fresh water, and yes even fresh veggies. Dogs Love fresh foods the same as you or I. When we are thinking about ourselves in terms of GOOD health we think fresh vegetables, lots of water and a good balanced diet. They are no different from us. And the beta carotene in carrots is just as good for them as it is for us. And your new baby will Love to try anything new. But, just as a child will have favorites and dislikes, so will your new baby puppy. Trial and error, this is how you will establish what they like and what they don't like.

It is quite simple really, the healthier you keep your pet the longer he/she will be around to give you many years of enjoyment.

EXCERCISE AND GOOD DIET.
